How To Be A Better Dancer

Tip to be a better dancer:

Lift your elbows up:
I know this one sounds simple but lifting your elbows up helps the dance look less sloppy. Β This will also help with giving the dance more energy by keeping the movements sharp. It helps with our posture as well, which brings us up to our next point.
‍
‍Don't lock your knees: Dancing rarely contains movements that have your knees straight, particularly in Bollywood dance. When you keep your knees straight it can come across as not using your lower body. This gives the illusion of being stiff. Instead, let the beat travel through your body by simply pulsing/bending your knees. Don't forget to use your hips.

‍Have good posture: Now this one seems obvious, but by simply keeping your back straight and shoulder rolled back, can make a dance go from a 3 to a 6. This will not only make you look more confident but bring energy and professionalism to your movements.

‍Use facial expressions: Having no facial expression when dancing is the equivalent of watching a movie and actors aren't good. Doing simple things such as lifting your eyebrows, lip-syncing and winking go a long way. It helps make the dance more appealing and allows the audience to feel your movements. Lastly, don't forget to smile.
